Sons of Levin Released Funkadelic Rock Track Ecclesiastes

Sons of Levin has built a reputation as a band that makes great dad rock music. Not the kind you’d groan at while riding dad’s car, but rare kind that makes you say, “Hey, this is actually good.”

Mere months after Slipping Away’s release, the sibling-led band has dropped another catchy single, Ecclesiastes, settling the tone for a powerful year ahead.

In their latest single, Sons of Levin adds spice of funk and an earworm chorus anybody can pick up at first listen.

The running theme that “there’s nothing new under the sun,” references the biblical book of Ecclesiastes, which reflects on the limitations of human experience. This message blends well with the carefree melody, urging listeners to embrace life as it comes.

If I were to describe my listening experience to this track, I’d say it’s oddly comforting. There’s something soothing about its familiar rhythm and flow, on top of the message that the struggles we face as individuals have all been lived through by others before us.

I also thought showcasing instrumental breaks and adding claps were brilliant choices. It makes the listening experience all the more inclusive and interactive, inviting listens to truly immerse themselves in this meaningful yet groovy song.
