Scharliina’s New Album ‘Darkness to a Fairytale’ Promises Healing Vibrations

Scharliina’s new tranquil record is purely meant for the green grasses and the fairyland everyone is longing for despite the murky places they have been currently living.

Change is not the only thing that is constant here in this moving world; it is agony. The human body is susceptible to such and would appear in the form of cuts, bruises, lacerations, or even a blemish, and this world has been growing into a place of nothing but darkness from what was once paradise. There have been scars residing in every portion of one’s body, and under these scars are the stories that are considered distinctive to them and something that would mark them as their most genuine and authentic self. It is, indeed, true, that it is the pain itself that ultimately becomes the driving force to our strength and can eventually go into the greatest of heights, signifying a chapter that is worth remembering.

Scharliina’s record, Darkness to a Fairytale, happens to be a record that goes exactly as a linear progression from a darker state of mind to something that has been dreamed of since the beginning of times. There is hope written in every track, even on the ones that do not necessarily show based on the bigger picture of some of the songs. The beauty and the comfort of her wistful yet sanguine voice are likely to be trusting, especially to the ones who need help to get out from the depths of the ocean.

For example, she has once asked herself, “Where did I get so lost?” This question and all other ones have been raised already in the first track of the album, Running, as if she is taking us back to a place where she was once like us. It is a great way to set the tone of the record especially due to the linear progression that was once discussed earlier. “I’ve been running, running, running for so long,” she proceeds to say, as if darkness is but a place that is nowhere to run away.

Seeing from the perspective of someone who loves stories, Scharliina has quite an interesting quill. Especially for the tracks Little Girl and Beauty and the Beast, her way of telling her story is a bit diaristic and personal, as if it was coming from the drafts of her Notes app or the crumpled pages of her journals. Sometimes, there is something real from the ones that are considered not as polished as the final output, because there is no need for pretentious phases. She has a story to tell, and so she has to tell it her way, without choosing the best words to allow us to grasp such imagery; she is choosing the right words at the moment, and that is something commendable. Even if it is not considered at best, writing such a conversational take with some blemishes from one verse to another is much better, especially in telling their own story. It breathes its own life.

The next half of the record comes with the healing portion of the record, as she is now speaking into the universe, calmly asking for its power to wipe such tears away, and that is always the first step if one desires change; an acceptance that something has to change and will be ready to take for the next days to come as the time is still ticking as of the moment. It was more evident in her magical 11:11, which talks about the manifestation of a better morning since it is this number, that, according to the numerology, is often seen as a number for the angels that symbolizes spiritual awakening and its alignment towards self-actualization, or self’s higher state of well-being. The last couple of songs, Paradigm and Fairytale, are now the steps Scharliina took to attain her most desired wish for herself and to be able to share her musings with the world, she already has conquered it from the nightfall she once lived.

Something that did not take my eyes the first time I was able to look into the shallows of the record was the name of the tracks. Every title of the song also anchors either 432 Hz or 528 Hz, which, are highly used in the concept of healing, and due to its pleasant frequency, it was such a great journey to have gone into the subconscious realm and seek the picturesque of a scenery that they have been yearning ever since. Upon reading, the following vibrations per second (432 Hz and 528 Hz) are sound frequencies; they are both responsible for a healing frequency from one’s internal body and mind to a more sensationalized feeling only the body can feel that is able to help for one’s mental health. With this awareness, she is such an intentional singer-songwriter; she knows what she is doing to present herself to the world about the message she believes everyone needs, and for a listener, there is a displayed reverence on my end for artists who have fully processed their artistry.

It might be just a short duration for it to be considered an album, but this is enough to go on a journey from darkness to a fairytale, and Scharliina’s ethereal voice is a great vessel to enjoy this dreamland of a place.
