Rock couldn’t be any more epitomized than this. ROCKIN’ THE ROAD by TEENBIRD is exactly how it sounds and how rock should be from front to back, start to finish. And as they say, “heads up for rock ‘n roll, get ready to rock your soul”!
Composed of twelve tracks, five being original compositions and seven being covers, TEENBIRD pulled everything off with the all-too-familiar sound of power chords and solos, and a soulful voice that will take you back to a time when the rock scene thrived.
Their original songs consist of “What U Do What U Get”, “Rock Your Soul”, “Youthful Spirits”, “Song Of Freedom”, and “Free Ride Life”. It is not an overstatement to claim that they have embodied the sound and feel of the entire rock scene, as well as that of iconic rock bands such as AC/DC or Motörhead because they really have. These songs will take you to another dimension through the instrumentals bringing you nostalgia, and those powerful vocals that just hit so right.
Creativeness shines through these songs and they truly come together perfectly; it’ll make you realize that unrecognized artists deserve to be acknowledged more. Though, production wise, there is still improvement to be made like any other art in this world, such as the bass and percussion being up to where the vocals and the guitar parts are.
As for the seven covers, namely “Cum On Feel The Noize” originally by Slade, “Hot Wheels” by Axel Rudi Pell, “I Can’t Drive 55” by Sammy Hagar, “Route 66” by Chuck Berry, “Born To Raise Hell” by Motörhead, a mashup of “Whole Lotta Rosie” by AC/DC and “La Grange” by ZZ Top that has ultimately been named as “Whole Lotta La Range”, and of course “Highway To Hell” by AC/DC.
That’s a lot to take in, but it’s an absolutely incredible line of songs, so kudos to TEENBIRD for picking these out because it definitely complements their original works. All twelve songs align with each other so well, that if someone who has no prior experience of listening to rock music will think that all of these tracks are originally TEENBIRD’s. And, they’ve added their own signature touch to these covers, so they’re definitely extra special.
Their covers of “Cum On Feel The Noize” and “Route 66” are bangers, and don’t get me started on that mashup. It’s creative, ambitious, and they’ve taken inspiration and made a craft of their own (which, by the way, also sums up this entire record). It’s that good that it’ll make you lay back and be in utter disbelief to how much this band knows what they’re doing.
A gem. That’s what TEENBIRD is. Come on, you gotta love bands that have drive and passion within, which makes up most of the art they create. Not to mention their motive of keeping the rock scene alive and to just make a euphoric experience to listeners. That’s what being an artist is all about. The best part about this whole album is the vocals, believe me. It’s going to shake you to your core by hitting all the notes perfectly. Listen to this album, you won’t regret it.
