This song is simple yet endearing in every way. It starts with keys, then the guitar kicks in just right – not too rough nor soft, but it somehow matches the vocals’ mellowness. Despite having alternative-esque influences, blossoming has perfectly balanced all the elements to create such a track.
Structure-wise, it’s easy to follow, easy to remember. It reflects on said emotions, reassuring the listeners that feeling is normal, and it’s okay to worry; but of course, the emphasis is on resting your heart. The words “please rest your heart for me, ‘cause I know that you’ve been feeling down” is repetitive, which is a good move to ensure that the message sticks.
Definitely a song to recommend for situations that need it. If you ever want to help someone out but don’t know how, sometimes songs help, believe it or not. Music heals, and “Rest Your Heart” is one of the ones that intend to do so.
