Paullagac Talks About Martyrdom And Saving A Relationship On His New Song “Beautiful Lies”

Released last February 29, 2024, Dreamify artist PaulLagac blessed us with his single “Beautiful Lies”; a bittersweet letter to someone you want to stay yet have fallen out of love with. Produced by Lagac and co-artists Zyrille Zuño and NICHIMI, the commercial pop song uses the moon as a metaphor for a comforting lie and the sun’s blinding light as the painful truth.

Beautiful Lies walks us through a story about two lovers, as formerly stated in this article, who chose to lie to each other for the sake of staying. In the song’s opening, the persona described how they still chose to listen to and believe what their partner had to say than to know the facts that would hurt them upon knowing. The lines “I would rather have you lie to me, As I gaze closer to your eyes, Like the moonlight that shines, So beautiful, So beautifully at night” shows us how despite falling out of love, the persona still genuinely admires and cares for their partner, even comparing the latter to a moonlight beam.

This narrative continued up to the song’s chorus, “Your beautiful lies, It’s like the moonlight, Shining beautifully in the night. I’ll close my eyes, Staring at the sunlight, Shining too bright, it hurts way too much.”. The song’s chorus also shown how much the persona is willing to endure just for the sake of staying ― martyrdom or genuine love, it’s for you to find out.

Beautiful Lies concluded the song with the persona re-assuring their partner that even though it hurts so much, they are willing to endure it for the sake of staying and caring, choosing to see the beautiful rather than the ugly; “Behind the moon, it hides the truth, You’re the moon I’ll always trust. I would rather look at your….moonlight, Like I would rather listen to your beautiful lies.”

Beautiful Lies’s official visualizer is also up on YouTube! You can listen to Beautiful Lies on your chosen music platforms and show us in the comment section what you think.
