Fire And Water by Jon Lamanna (Track Review)

The magical thing about “Fire And Water” is already sensed from the moment you press play. From the initial fingerpicking up to the eventual build up, and the way its energy fits the words perfectly.

Jon Lamanna was definitely brewing something in the midst of creating this track. It evidently traces back to his musical roots, shown through his vocal prowess, the emotional bolt in the climax, an impactful and easy-to-remember chorus, this song is quite simply his, but it would surely get attention by the familiarity and its influences.

Speaking of creativity in terms of songwriting, utilizing fire and water as a representation of inner turmoil and conflict may be nothing new to some, but Lamanna has used it well, that’s for sure. “We get too close and hurt each other” definitely means two things, which literally happens when the two elements clash. I will stop there as we don’t want this to turn into an analysis of every line in the song.

If you are in dire need of relatable songs, something to release your emotions into, “Fire And Water” is one of them. There is no doubt the lyrics touch the theme of love and relationships. Encapsulating the feeling of heartbreak and a fight within, this track will serve as a shoulder to cry on.
