An All-instrumental Banger with They Call Me District Lost

Mixed and produced by Canada-based producer District Lost comes an EP entitled They Call Me District Lost. Composed of five LoFi Hip-hop instrumentals, the Ep is a mix of LoFi and Boombap beats. Listening to it would definitely result for it to being played constantly because of how good of an EP it is! Even without the usual lyrics that we sing along to, They Call Me District Lost offers a wide variety of instrumentals that will fit your every mood.

As a new music blog writer for Apsi Magazine, this will be my first time reviewing an EP filled with purely instrumentals for the company. It posed a challenge for me because I usually focus on the artists’ lyricism more than the musicality of the songs. As a first-timer for these types of review, I listen intently to this EP to give my most authentic feedback. Curious as to what EP I’m talking about? Continue reading to know more about it.

Finger Guns is the first song that will welcome you through the journey of listening to the EP. This also served as the lead single of the EP. With its perfect blend of synth and drumbeats, it will leave you craving for more. Heat of the Nigh comes next with its energetic beat. This song is perfect to be included in your playlist for long drives with friends or family. As the sun’s temperature rises, the beats of this song will perfectly accompany you in the blazing heat.

The EP’s third track, High Roller, is the friend that you need when you need to focus on studying or work. As LoFi beats become more popular as the days go by as a go-to music source when people need focus, this song might be your new best friend! The song gives you beats that will energize you while also maintaining that chill vibe for you to not be overstimulated.

For the next track entitled Phone Her Up, the prominent sound of the cowbell makes the track seem like a repetitive sound of someone’s ringtone. In line with its ongoing theme with its title and vibe, this song makes me feel like it’s a weekday and friends keep bombarding my phone to ask me to hang out to a pool or a corner street café.

The EP then concludes with the track entitled That Damn Piano Is Acting Up Again! The song’s vibe is giving “All of the things I’m doing today is going south!” It is calm output of rage, resulting in a relaxing mix of synth and piano tunes that will surely validate your outbursts.

If you’re looking for an all-instrumental track EP, be sure to check out They Call Me District Lost. Available to listen to on YouTube and Spotify.
