A Heartbreaking Masterpiece: Skeleton by CHRISTOS

What makes a good song? Is it the music, the lyrics, or how we felt listening to it? I was lucky enough to review Skeleton by CHRISTOS and Imagine the Rapper, produced by Delipres. Join me as we do a deep dive into this track and read why it’s a song that will withstand the test of time.

The track starts with this melancholic guitar lick that is perfect for the overall theme of the song. As the song progresses, you can feel the heaviness of the character’s point of view.

Lyrics like “It feels so cold alone / I wish this felt like home / sometimes I don’t feel comfort inside my own bones” are the pivotal point that drives home this track. If you listen to just the instrumentation, it sounds easy and outgoing but if you delve into the lyrics, it’s a real heartbreaker.

The track delves deeply into topics such as alienation and identity crisis just to name a few. What made it special is that the lyrics were written simply, in your face, and straight as an arrow. It’s not complicated and it hits home.

Skeleton is a track that can and will withstand the test of time because of its raw lyrics, easy and outgoing sound and it’s relatable lyrics. If I can be completely honest, it’s not my cup of tea. I’m used to doubling down the melancholic lyrics and melancholic sound but that’s not the case. In the landscape of the music industry today, creativity and originality are king.
