Michael Forday has put together a pretty good nostalgic rock track with Wasted Days. A few things jump out to me with this song, but the main thing is the vocal melody.
I’m not gonna lie. I’m pretty envious of Michael Forday’s vocals in this song. This is a great voice, and the singing really stands out as a strong point in this track. I think the main reason is that it’s very harmonious with the music, and that’s actually pretty noteworthy considering how layered and complicated the backing music is.
The second thing that stands out to me in this song is the bass. The bass is really rocking. There’s more than a few moments where it really reaches out to extend and support the melody. I love songs that do this. Counterpoint between vocals and bass always, I think, makes a song more interesting and enjoyable to listen to.
All in all, this is definitely a well crafted song, and has a strong musical foundation. If you’re looking for something a little psychedelic with vintage rock vibes, I would check this out. It’s got solid sound, is pretty interesting, and is definitely pleasing to the ear.
