Schmitty Narrates About his Life Journey in New EP “A Total Schmitt Show”

Schmitty, an American alternative hip-hop artist, entices us with his new EP entitled “A Total Schmitt Show”. Inspired by various artists such as Post Malone and Bon Jovi, Schmitty is known for his positive outlook on life, honest lyrics, and versatile musical talent. From dreaming of becoming an “American Idol” winner to forming “The Chibe Tribe” with friends at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, his journey has been driven by a deep passion for music and the resilience to overcome life’s challenges.

The six-track EP will be released on April 19, 2024. Schmitty’s versatility was showcased in this album by delving into the styles of artists blackbear, Juice WRLD, and Jeremy Zucker. This EP offers a versatile, well-rounded, and multi-genre introduction to his sound and his life. Its entirety also portrays Schmitty’s positivity and authenticity, celebrating the good times and opening up about the different struggles he has gone through.

When the music takes control, and your energy explodes” is exactly the vibe that Smart Man gives. It is a perfect fit for the EP’s opening, welcoming every listener with a free adrenaline rush to use for the rest of the listening experience.

The pop-rap Lifetime then tells us about dreaming to achieve the good things in life. The line “That’s why I got to strive to be that number one guy.”, is filled with so much emotion that it speaks to one’s soul, to the dreamer inside every one of us.

How Did I Get Here?, the EP’s third song, talks about the track you chose in the present and how happy you are with it. “I ain’t even worried about a god d*mn thing.”, for me is the charm point of this song. It shows how one overcomes the struggle to get to where we are now, because we’re free from it, and we are already living a life we only dreamt of back then. The fourth track sets a gloomy tone through its lyricism in its first half. Everything Will Be Alright is the perfect song to remind us that we can bounce back from hitting rock bottom.

Just like the song says, “Just keep on moving and your worries will work out for you.”
7th Grade Kid is a song about reminiscing about life in the past, having a chaotic household, and having your friends to save you. Although packaged under the pop-rap genre, it gives a melancholic and hopeful tone at the same time, giving us a wrap-up of the persona’s past and present life in one song.

For the last song, fitting as the EP’s conclusion, we got Not a Goodbye. This song also serves as the EP’s lead single. Not a Goodbye is an ode to everyone and serves as a promise to come back successful with the persona’s chosen track in life.

Just like any good story, this EP leaves us wanting more. It’s not just about the beats and the lyrics; it’s about the message behind each track. We know this won’t be the last we hear from him. So keep your playlists ready and your spirits high because Schmitty’s music will continue to uplift and resonate with us, no matter where life takes us. This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.
