The vocals are kept low and brooding, embedding itself and being one with the arrangement. The evocative textures of R&B done with modern production and dreamlike jazz influences pours itself over you and is very much evident in the track.
There’s no sense of brightness or happiness that can be heard but it does not sink too deeply in grief or gloom. It’s just laying, floating in between, like thoughts passing through the cold air at midnight while you’re wide awake. It’s written in a short, subtle way that feels poetic and figurative in the best way. The way it uses white lotus as a symbol of a person slowly losing spark and innocence while being trapped in stagnant life, bitterness, and unresolved memories or regrets is excellent and emotionally resonant.
