Creating music and becoming an artist is no walk in the park; it’s a tough journey filled with ups and downs. It tests your dedication, resilience, and passion at every turn. But despite the hardships and sacrifices, the growth and experiences gained along the way are priceless. There’s something magical about being able to create, express, and share your art with the world—it brings a sense of deep satisfaction and fulfillment. And when you look back at all the struggles and hurdles you’ve overcome, the rewards and personal achievements make it all worth it, reminding you that every challenge was a stepping stone toward realizing your dream.

“More To The Story” serves as an auditory representation of Tennishu’s transformative journey toward becoming a seasoned musician and accomplished artist. The road has been long and hard, but it has been worth it without a shadow of a doubt. Tennishu’s commitment to his craft and relentless pursuit of excellence have been pivotal in shaping his unique musical identity. The countless hours spent honing his skills, experimenting with different sounds, and overcoming personal and professional obstacles have all contributed to his artistry.

Tennishu, a multifaceted rising artist hailing from Richmond, Virginia, has spent the past decade crafting a unique sonic identity that blurs the lines between Hip-Hop and Jazz. With a passion for connecting directly with listeners’ minds through his music, Tennishu thrives on the instantaneous vibe exchange that transcends conventional barriers.

This album features straightforward yet impactful songs, designed to resonate with a wide audience. Tennishu emphasizes the importance of considering various consumption points during the music creation process. This approach allows him to craft songs with universal appeal while retaining their unique essence, resonating deeply with a wide range of listeners and fostering meaningful connections with his audience. Key tracks include “Sixes,” “Heat To Drop,” “The Formula,” and “Live The Good Life.” Drums and bass for these songs were recorded by Lance Koehler at Minimum Wage Recording in Richmond, Virginia. All other instruments and samples were recorded at Dinah Recording in Richmond, Virginia. The album is produced by Tennishu for James Infinite, with all songs written by Marcus James Tenney. The artwork is by Derrick Tenney.

Instead of a general review, I’d like to dig deeper into some standout singles that truly capture the essence of this album. Take “Sixes,” for instance. It begins with a wonderfully weird and bizarre intro, and Tennishu’s delivery of each verse and flow feels as raw and natural as a freestyle. His mastery of his craft is evident, and the production and arrangement are impressive. With skilled musicians contributing to the album, the result is exceptional.

Heat To Drop,” on the other hand, offers a slower tempo and a different theme. Who would have thought that such a simple beat and melody could create such a compelling track? It’s straightforward yet remarkable, with thoughtfully chosen lyrics. Then there’s my favorite track, “Live The Good Life.” Alongside its catchy melody, the song stands out due to its production and arrangement. The inclusion of trumpets and other elements provides a strong foundation and identity. Tennishu’s rap skills and vocals shine here, showcasing his creativity as both a rapper and an artist.

But I’m not here to reveal everything about the album. With a total of 17 tracks, this LP promises a plethora of surprises and delights waiting to be discovered. As you dig deeper into the album, anticipate a mesmerizing fusion of hip-hop and jazz that is sure to leave a lasting impression. The diverse range of tracks offers an eceptional musical journey, showcasing Tennishu’s versatility and creativity across various genres and styles.

“More To The Story” is simple yet powerful, showing Tennishu’s musical philosophy. We see Tennishu’s hard work and love for music in every song. The challenges he faced made his music deeper and richer. The album mixes hip-hop and jazz, reaching everyone with its catchy tunes and meaningful words. Each track is carefully crafted, reflecting his belief that music, much like any language, is most effective when it considers how it will be received by its audience. This thoughtful approach guarantees that each note connects strongly with listeners, making the path to becoming a musician and artist incredibly rewarding.
