Medicine (Black & Blue) by Turn Two: A Track Review

You must admit, for once in your life, you’ve become a slave to the pop-punk scene. Whatever you are right now, be it a CEO, a mom, a dad, or some simple person like me, we all have that kind of phase. Maybe that’s why the ‘MOM, IT WAS NEVER A PHASE, IT’S A LIFESTYLE!’ trend was such a hit—because of the nostalgia that it brought. Speaking of nostalgia, Turn Two has something special brought for us: “Medicine (Black & Blue),” a single that could pass as an addition to your emo-phase teenage playlist on Spotify!

Turn Two is a pop punk band from Jersey Shore that carries a signature sound that perfectly induces emotional nostalgia you’ll only get from bands from the early 2000s pop punk/emo era. As they release “Medicine (Black & Blue), produced and recorded by Matt Weber of Gradwell House, they present to us a track that not only radiates potent energy through its driving guitars and hard-pounding drums but also presents us a message that explores internal conflict involving choices and how it affects a person, sung through clear and impressive vocals of their lead singer.

Surprisingly, the sound of Turn Two falls inside my usual musical taste, with Paramore, All Time Low, Panic! At The Disco, and Jimmy Eat World on my current constant playlist, Turn Two somewhat sounded familiar and closer, which is great! I love how the song deeply connects to me, and I can’t help but notice how well-crafted and engaging this song is from start to finish. It is a quality release—an absolute banger! This is a great introduction to the most anticipated debut EP of the band “Darkest Days” to be released in the future!

So, upgrade your pop punk playlist and add “Medicine (Black & Blue)” by Turn Two! Follow the band and connect with them to get the freshest updates on their latest gigs and new music releases! Stream “Medicine (Black & Blue) by Turn Two now!
