Jet Set Trash: We are living in Mike Stewart Theory’s world

Let me just be completely honest. When I initially listened to the track, it sounds honky. I feel like it’s not going anywhere. As a reviewer, you always look for that lasting impression and sure enough, it dawned on me. Mike Stewart Theory is not on our level. Or even on anyone’s level. Let me explain.

60 to 70% of artists are always trying to aim for that golden crown with their single, EP, or Album but for this one, it’s not. The sauce is the track. Mike Stewart Theory is not trying to compete with the music of today. He is creating music that he likes and we are lucky that he gave us a piece of his world. This is his world and we are just living in it.

The intro of Jet Set Trash feels like an early 2000s movie soundtrack because of the maracas sound and the clean guitar riff. If you listen closely, the guitar riff is easy to listen to but as hard as to execute. From my standpoint, the track is a mix of Country, Indie, and Pop which is a testament to Mike Stewart Theory’s wide array of influence.

From a lyrical perspective, Jet Set Trash is a narrative depiction of you guess it, jet setters. These are wealthy and fashionable people who travel the world for pleasure. I’ll just let you listen to the song to point down the whole meaning of it.

And to end this review, I was stunned yet again by the whole meaning of “what is good music”. Jet Set Trash is not as explosive as the music of today but you can hear the matureness and greatness of Mike Stewart Theory riveting on this track.
