Into Divinity by .Roy stays true to its title and it deserves to hit more replays

There is a different kind of spark into pieces that are made by artists who strive to create meaningful art while valuing their authenticity and freedom of expression. One of those artists is .Roy, who expressed his artistry with his latest EP Into Divinity.

The intro is very unexpected, something I’ve never heard before. It started off with a skit, a man and a woman, then came a radio announcer who talked about the gist of the EP. It was very unique and fresh which shows how creative and imaginative .Roy is. The way the skit ended enabled a smooth transition into the first track.

If you’re into R&B, chill beats with a hint of hip-hop, you would enjoy Piano Song (The Breakup). It’s written from the perspective of a young man who lost his love and the healing process that comes as the aftermath of it. This explains the raw emotions that can be heard through the lyrics.

Lush (Nights at Mirage), on the other hand, was the exact opposite of the first track. The song feels like a song that you’d want to hear on a late-night catch up with friends or a song you’ll play on a midnight drive. The Villain (Shadow Side) is also on the same spectrum with the electronic and hip-hop beats. Yet this feels more personal, as it tackles the complexities of being human – our internal struggles and the darker side of us that is hard to acknowledge.

His verses in his track Favorite might be a literal favorite as .Roy excels in storytelling, he raps perfectly and combines good rhythm and rhymes that are both poetic and punchy.

Another track that stands out on its own is Smile on Me, which translates vulnerability and honesty in a song. It has that captivating R&B and acoustic characteristics that evokes strong emotions, it echoes long into one’s thoughts after the first listen. It also highlights .Roy’s vocals which added depth into the song.

Into Divinity showcases .Roy’s unique artistic voice that is transformative, impactful, and inspiring. Overall, it’s nice to discover artists who have that bold artistic presence.

Every listen to this EP will unfold and reveal something new that shows its richness in details and emotions. It deserves to hit more replays!
