Pink Trash Project Special Feature; Part 1 of 3

We had the pleasure to be in with the “secret” that PINKies PH has been teasing for a while. In an online interview we had with Pink Trash Project―also known as Ate Pink in the music industry― who also serves as the head of the PINKies Production team, we were let on in the secret a little bit earlier than most people.
When asked about what this secret show is about, Pink told us that the event title for this show is Welcome to Pink Chaos. This show will serve as the start of Pink Trash Project’s new era ― Pink Chaos ― which is the re-envisioned era for Pink Trash Project. Pink has shared that everything is still uncertain, as if in a blur, but she exclaimed that that makes life more fun and exciting. “We also want to welcome the Pink Trash Can community: Pinkies and new other listeners to the PTP Experience. It may sometimes be calm, sometimes chaotic, and most of the time energetic because it’s just like the color pink: it has different shades ― different experiences.
Pink also shared that she went through a huge transition as an artist ― with the line-up, the songs, the workflow… As a perfectionist in her craft, this took a toll on her mental health. Juggling passion alongside her day job, this also caused her physical health to decline. Last March 15, 2024, Pink announced her hiatus as Pink Trash Project to take a rest, refocus, re-envision, and think about what she really wanted to do in her life ― which in this case, is Pink Trash Project. “I think what makes this event (Welcome to Pink Chaos) so special, is that I get to do this with the people that mean so much to me: the PTP crew, the band friends included in the show’s line-up, and most especially, this is the time when I can finally say ‘This is what I really wanna do for the rest of my life’.”
During the teasing period for Welcome to Pink Chaos, big names were revealed one by one on the PINKies Prod Facebook page. The artists included in the line-up are Owl’s Night, Mint Magic, Frank Ely, Brisom, This Band, Moongrey, CH4OS, and of course, Pink Trash Project. Alongside the artist, we asked Pink about any spoilers for the show and the secrets she’s allowed to share. “To those who will be coming to our show, which is initially teased as ‘A Secret Show’ basically because we are going to share secrets that attendees will be the first ones to know! *winks* But that’s all that I can spill! Otherwise, it won’t be a surprise anymore!” she giggled.
As someone who insists on getting spoiled, we also asked Pink to share other special things to look out for that are going to be “gig-exclusive” on that fateful night. “I think, the fact that This Band is going to a bar gig after a successful US Tour is really special!” she gushes, “I mean, super thankful talaga naming sa kanila for saying yes to this! We don’t see them in bar shows that often anymore.” She also shared that they will be releasing a limited-edition Official PTP Merch. There will only be 30 pieces up for grabs, and 10 of those are already reserved for the band and their crew. “If you guys wanna get the first dibs, please do come to the show! The next shirts that will be released by our team won’t be the same as the ones that will be sold in the show. The show-exclusive shirt design signifies the transition kasi, the chaos. We will also be giving away stickers!” Pink shared gleefully.
The idea of Pink Chaos couldn’t have just popped out of nowhere, could it? So, as we chatted with Pink, we also asked her for more information about Pink Chaos and its origins. She then told us that Pink Chaos initially started as a podcast where she talked about the stories behind her songs. “This happened during the pandemic, but when I look back to it, I realize I wasn’t exactly telling the truth, it was all for show (pun intended ― Narcissism). Then, I turned Pink Chaos into a vlog where I had 10 episodes (it’s available on YouTube!) and it was such a fun one! I talked about the band, my songs, my experiences as PTP, and I genuinely enjoyed those moments of my life that I’m thankful I get to document.”
“During the times that I was resting, the crew ― me, myself, and I most of the times ― talked about and looked back to how the PTP brand got established. What’s the brand? It’s Pink, it’s energetic, it’s chaotic, it’s dramatic ― basically, it’s different kinds of experiences like the different shades of pink, but I realized, what makes it work is that because it’s genuine. This is just who I am. This is how I write my songs. This is what I want to do. This is the sound that I enjoy singing and dancing along to. This is just how I enjoy myself on stage. Parang if the people like it, thank you. If they don’t, then it’s fine. We all have our own taste naman ― and it’s their choice if they wanna join in the chaos of this experience because whenever they are ready, we have our arms wide open saying ‘Welcome to Pink Chaos!’.
As an additional bonus segment to this interview, we also asked Pink’s crew, the Pinkies Prod crew ― consisting of Pink herself, Criscia, Nami, and Joed ― to join in on the fun and have them answer a set of questions.
Q: What are the preparations that you did for this event?
Pink: First, I did honestly rest naman but my brain has always been this active so nagpahinga talaga ako for my mental health – you know the pressure of performing well while I wasn’t okay, I rested my voice, my energy, I took a look back to all the songs I’ve written, listened to my songs and re-envisioned it, I planned the show with the team, talked to the people dearest to me. Talked to people who supports my dreams, nakipag-date din ganon, para naman makagawa ako ng love song diba? Char~ Basta the team and I did a lot of preparations for this and I really do hope all the efforts won’t go to waste, I was all in for this.
Criscia: We started preparing for this comeback show after ate Pink’s rest last March. Loads of meetings and setbacks happened but we are and will always be pushing forward!
Nami: Ang daming pa-meeting ni Ate Pink pero gets naman as a Project Manager, ‘di mo talaga matanggal sa kaniya pero ganito naman lagi ever since, but the bands were thoroughly planned, the flow of the program, the marketing and promotional strategy, nag-clear din kami ng mga schedules, maraming suppliers na kinausap, marami kaming natututunan actually while working with each other, I guess yun yung favorite ko of being part of the crew.
Joed: Well, the preparation begins when we took a break from the prod and gigs, pero kahit pahinga, daming meetings and brainstormings. Tamang aral lang ng mga bagong song and transition ng songs ni ate. *chuckles* Ayun lang.
Q: What is your most anticipated part of the upcoming event?
Pink: Other than being able to share the secret, I really am looking forward for Pinkies to have a new kind of PTP Experience. Other than that, basically being able to perform alongside band friends – I’m just really thrilled thinking about that day.
Criscia: THIS BANDDD!!! As a big fan of the band, their performance is something to be excited about. BUT OF COURSE!! THE SECRET!! I can’t wait for the team to reveal what’s the secret!!
Nami: PTP Experience. Medyo bago to than the usual kaya kahit lagi kang nasa PTP gig, this will be a whole new experience.
Joed: Of course, yung energy ng Pinkies and ni ate Pink. The best talaga siya palagi when performing and entertaining PTP experience is one and most of the anticipated part this coming event for me.
