An Assortment of Sorts: Oneson Clang’s Aquatic Flames EP Review

Artists Oneson Clang had made an EP debut through Mass Made Media entitled Aquatic Flames. This EP houses the songs Long Gone, Let Me Sleep, Amalgamated From The Carbon, and Nothin’ To Explain. The roster of songs in this EP is such a delight to listen to anytime. Whether you’re looking for something fresh to listen to or just want to explore new music, this EP is a good one to pick up on a random day. This might also be a good introduction to Oneson Clang’s discography for it offers an easy listening experience. Aquatic Flames is an EP that takes on a Rap-HipHop genre, making you feel awake and alive as you go on listening to it.

Let us now talk about Oneson Clang’s EP. Long Gone is the opener and the first song to greet you in this EP if you are bound to listen in order. Long Gone also features artists $plashious, Mourning Run, and Sensei Sol. This track incorporated a solemn and nostalgic vibe to it. It delivered good rhyme schemes that will leave you craving more, which I think is a good tactical move to encourage the listener to listen to the whole EP.

Let Me Sleep is the second song in this EP. Oneson’s reflective lyrics are the forefront of this track. It creates an introspective and immersive listening experience. It features dreamy chops and drum grooves as smooth as butter making the instrumentals soothing, and he also paired it with a thoughtful wordplay that really makes this song outstanding. This track features the artist Kold Kwan, who contributed in the song’s conclusion, closing it with a powerful lyricism and rhyme.

The third song Amalgamated From Carbon features artists CXP and Sixpense, making this song an amazing blend of talent and witty lyricism, aside from the fact that this song also features a bop instrumental that compliments its lyrics well. This song talks about an artist’s love and passion for what they do. It shows how resilient and hardworking artists can be when it comes to their craft. The artists in this track were each given a spotlight to talk about their own experiences in the scene, and about things important to them.

The curtain call, the conclusion of this EP, Nothing to Explain. This song sounds like a very personal song for Oneson for they talked about all the bits and pieces of his personal life. From the memories of his childhood to the struggles of the present, to giving advice to the listeners about what to do and how to navigate life through his experiences. This track is such an inspirational one to listen to especially if you are going through something hard right at the moment. Oneson probably created this song for the very same purpose, to reach the ears and heart of those who are lost and need a little help from someone who has already gone through things.

Aquatic Flames is a bold album that seeks to put itself out there, promising a wild ride while you listen and genuine lyricism at best. The catchy beat and the artists’ features are some of this album’s charm points. If you are not in a hurry and can spare some minutes for this EP, I highly recommend for you to try it.
