A Closer Look at Zehbrah’s Upcoming EP “Four”

Zehbrah, an emerging independent hip-hop artist who is making waves with his unique blend of abstract trap and experimental beats, has invited us to succumb to his world of trap-hip-hop music, and we are luckily invited to be one of the first few listeners of his upcoming EP Four. This EP is set to release on the 4th of October this year, 2024. Based on his website, Zehbrah, his music stands out for its introspective lyricism and innovative sound design, pushing the boundaries of traditional hip-hop. V Timely, his recent song release, gained praise for its contemplative lo-fi beats and conscious hip-hop elements. The track captures a mellow yet deep reflection on time and modern life pressures, urging listeners to slow down and focus on what truly matters. This song is one of the songs in his upcoming EP and that fact alone makes this EP worth checking out.

“Zehbrah’s work is often described as a thoughtful rebellion against the fast-paced world, blending intricate rhythms with atmospheric production. His music explores themes such as personal growth and resilience, making his sound not only engaging but deeply meaningful. “ – Groover

With a short runtime of 11:24 minutes for the whole EP, this record is packed with meaningful and deep lyricism, sick beats, amazing wordplay, and rhyme. This EP heavily references Marvel comics’ characters’ lore and backstories. So, if you are a Marvel Comics or Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, you might enjoy this EP as much as I enjoy it. It is not new for musical artists to reference pop culture themes in their music and composition, but it is exciting to know and resonate with their interpretations of these references. It takes another fan of the same franchise to relate the most to an art like this.

The EP opens with V Timely, the song that was already released before this EP release. This song was first released last September 7, 2024, and has already received multiple press coverages and reviews. The theme of this song is about the destiny and tension of trying to control time and being at the mercy of it. This song was referenced by Victor Timely who first appeared in The Avengers Annual #21 comic. He also appeared in the series Loki. So, if you read or watched one of these, you’ll know the references in this song.

The second song, F Richards, references the Marvel character Franklin Richards, the child of the famous Fantastic Four couple Reed and Sue Richards. Franklin Richards is known for their ability to warp reality and that inspired this track. This song explores the theme of immense potential and power which made it hard to balance control and chaos. This song also nestles the narrative of a child-parent tension between the two parties.

Doomed, the third song was about a complex relationship referenced from Doctor Doom and Scarlet Witch’s love affair. This track sings about two people’s differences, shared troubled backgrounds, and bitter realizations that love alone cannot be the sole reason to stay.

Last, but not least, is N Radd (I Am Alive). The EP’s conclusion is inspired by the Silver Surfer Norrin Radd. This song captures the complex feeling when an individual is torn between duty and personal morality. This is such a nice track to conclude the EP and will make sure that you remember the entirety of it.
