You would easily mistake this song to be part of a fun, wild party scene from a coming-of-age film just by how it all sounds. Though it sounds like it, the words are anything but carefree, as it seeks affirmation through the questions scattered throughout the song.
Tahi’s “Tend to Me” blissfully finds a sense of belongingness, or quite bluntly asking for someone to ‘please care’. It is a nice contrast to the choice of ambience and its arrangements, successfully expressing a common sequence of events in life while simultaneously trying to reach an audience that relates or shares the same sentiment.
Comprising synth, bright bursts of guitar chords and other elements that ultimately make everything pop, the track does seem to naturally belong to a colorful, lively environment. Everything matches exceptionally well with the vocals and its backing.
The track also contains lines of questions mentioned beforehand like “If my heart was growing wild just like a garden full of weeds, would you tend to me?”, “If my love was like a rainbow in a stormcloud, would you wanna set me free?”, “If my love was like a void in a world of darkness, would you wake me from my dream?”, and “If your faith needed a savior full of guidance, would you get down on your knees?”.
Overall, it’s a well-put single that has made its message come through clearly. It’s fun, vibrant, something that would immediately make you think of a party scene or the fresh breeze in spring.
