Gardarika: Book One, released on October 6th this year, is a five-track collection that transports you to a world that you have never seen before through its great blend of electronica and folk sounds, which emanates this mysterious and magical atmosphere that you will surely enjoy!
Gardarika: Book One is a very interesting EP. Gardarika is an ancient world. Due to some disaster, music has disappeared, and Agniy, the hero of the story, takes the challenge to save the world through a magic amethyst to bring back music and restore harmony in the world. This is an adventure-packed EP—interesting, great sounding, and most of all, awesome world-building.
The adventure starts with the track “Gandarika at Night,” a song with an interestingly captivating opening chord progression. With the rich sound of guitar, ambient sounds of nature, and captivating synths laced with some of the most angelic and expressive female vocals, this track sets the setting for this out-of-this-world adventure. The track “Agniy” follows with its upbeat and driving tempo, bringing in this idea of a strong and heroic figure in the scene. With “Akata,” its ethereal vocals evoke a mysterious and haunting adventure that gives me that kind of mental vision of the challenges the hero must experience in order to gain the magical stone; maybe a magical witch was also involved? I don’t know!! But I’m sure enough, this sound is rich and befitting a world befitting of a great adventure.
“Ilm” is a track that kind of reminds me of a game called Genshin Impact specifically in the city called Monstadt. It is an upbeat track that gives off positive energy because of the great combination of the rich sound of the guitar and some good beats and synths. It gives that mental vision of meeting a lively bard who eventually joins Agniy in his adventure. Finally, “Volemir” serves as the closing for this EP. This track gives off some mysterious energy, so it can be assumed that this book ends with a cliffhanger. Its driving sound brought by the guitar, beats, synths, and some ambient nature sounds brings in the idea of an adventure that is about to be continued. The book stays open, and the story continues!
Ultimately, Gardarika: Book One is one helluva EP that I’d personally want to listen to if I want to write some great books about ancient worlds, magic, and a whole lot of fantasies! It is a great EP! It has a very stimulating sound that induces visions that will make you think of adventures even without the content brought by lyrics.
