Rebellion Has A New Anthem, And It’s Electric Lady’s “I’m Done (I’ve Had Enough)”

You can never go wrong with gritty, distorted guitar riffs. This song establishes a rage-like rebellion from the get-go, think Evanescence, Paramore, even the vocal flair of Chappell Roan if she went full on rock. It’s truly refreshing to see another female presence in the rock n’ roll scene. They always manage to spice up the genre, eradicate the dullness, which “I’m Done (I’ve Had Enough)” has done.

Electric Lady is a singer-songwriter from Prague, and she’s quite the mysterious type of rockstar in a sense that she remains vague and tough—or at least, that’s what her persona is like. However, she’s expressive when it comes to her work. She’s loud, unfiltered, and she aims to break the stereotypes in rock, e.g. girls not being able to play guitar, because news flash: they can.

The execution couldn’t be greater, the drums complement the rest of the instruments, and there’s a balance between interludes and the lines, bringing more emphasis to them. “I’m Done (I’ve Had Enough)” isn’t a song about quitting, but instead it complains and cries out through its loudness. A crashout, if you will. It’s theatrical, in a way, from how animatic the deliveries sound.

All in all, it’s a pretty solid track if you wanna start a revolution, even if it’s just in your head or in your bedroom while listening to this song. Electric Lady is definitely underrated as an artist, given how her music gives off a premium and nostalgic-feel of beloved rock goodness.
