Linkwell’s “For The First Time” is the soft nudge you need if you’re caught between comfort and change

The bittersweet nature of new beginnings lies between the idea that there’s beauty in uncertainties while there’s also a certain weight from stepping into something new. And no matter how much we deny and delay this, there’s an inevitable change that pushes our feet out to try and seek new things. And if you ever need a little tap or soft nudge for your going-out-of-comfort-zone moment, Linkwells got a little gift wrapped in a song for you with their latest single For The First Time.

Hailing from Malvern, the indie-rock band is composed of four seasoned musicians. They’re known for their seamless blend of Britpop with modern indie textures, drawing positive recognition with comparisons to icons like The Stone Roses and Oasis

There’s a great amount of heart and vulnerability poured into For the First Time. It has a melodic edge driven by dynamic guitar lines and beats that charge forward, it maintains a good balance between grit and warmth. Aside from excellent musicality, the way it’s written is notable, too. It’s honest enough to acknowledge that there’s a huge amount of fear wrapped in every step towards the unfamiliar while encouraging to take bold steps and “leave your mark wherever you go,” as sung in the track.

The track does not push nor force, it’s more of a genuine reminder and assurance like a late-night conversation with an adult who has outgrown people and things. It’s for everyone who’s carving a new path — choosing between careers, ending relationships, finding a new home, and everything in between comfort and progress.

And if you’re ever finding that courage to explore and start a new chapter, this indie rock track For the First Time by Linkwells might be a sign you’ve waiting for.
